INSPIRE LADIES' CHOIR
INSPIRE is a ladies' community choir of almost 40 voices, based in Washington, Tyne & Wear. The choir meets each Thursday morning between 9.30am and 11.30am to learn and rehearse a wide range of styles of music. We meet in St. Andrew's Methodist Church Hall, Concord, Washington.
The choir aims to bring women into a relaxed atmosphere where they can develop a love of singing together, build lasting friendships and present their singing to a listening public through concerts and private bookings.
Founded in the 1930s, the choir continued until the mid 1950s before being disbanded until 1984 when it was resurrected by the late Nancy Briggs and Vera Storey. At this time the choir were known as the "Washington Women's Institute Federation Choir".
The choir is now an independent body open to all women.
New members are always welcome to join us - you don't need to be a great singer or be able to read music - please use the 'Contact' form to email us or turn up any Thursday morning for a taster session.
The choir are currently recruiting new members in all lines - 1st & 2nd Sopranos and Altos
